Thyrocare Technologies Limited has entered the pregnancy testing segment with the launch of a new kit that combines an at-home rapid pregnancy test with an option for laboratory confirmation. The company has also appointed actor Yami Gautam as the brand ambassador for the product.
The Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit is designed to provide women with an initial pregnancy test at home, along with access to a quantitative Beta human chorionic gonadotropin (Beta hCG) laboratory test.
The rapid test detects the presence of the pregnancy hormone through a line-based result on the test strip. The laboratory test measures the level of Beta hCG in the blood, providing a quantitative result that can help in clinical assessment.
According to the company, the kit includes a voucher for a Beta hCG laboratory test at half its regular price. Home sample collection is included as part of the offer. Customers can access the confirmation service by scanning a QR code provided in the packaging and booking through the company’s website.
The product is being introduced through pharmacies, e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms. The company has announced a maximum retail price of Rs. 60 per kit.
Thyrocare said the product is intended to connect an accessible home-testing option with its laboratory network. The company operates laboratories and collection points across several districts in India, enabling it to provide diagnostic services to a wide customer base.
Pregnancy tests detect hCG, a hormone produced during pregnancy. Home tests can provide an early indication, but results may be affected by the timing of testing and how the test is used. A negative result may not rule out pregnancy if the test is taken too early.
The company said the new offering aims to provide consumers with an additional route for confirmation.
Medical professionals generally advise women to consult a healthcare provider for interpretation of test results and guidance on the next steps, particularly when results are unclear or symptoms are present.
The launch marks Thyrocare’s expansion into a consumer-facing diagnostic product category.
